Ransom, Illinois, is a small village in LaSalle County with a population of approximately 308 as of the 2020 census. This rural community, part of the Ottawa Micropolitan Statistical Area and the Streatorland subregion, was a planned settlement established in 1885, named after American Civil War general Thomas E.
