Scottdale, Georgia, is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) situated in DeKalb County, just east of Atlanta. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of approximately 10,698 residents.

Established in the early 20th century, Scottdale was named after Colonel George Washington Scott, who founded the Scottdale Cotton Mill in the late 1800s. The mill's development included housing for workers, leading to the establishment of the community. The mill operated until 1982, after which many workers sought employment elsewhere in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Today, Scottdale is a predominantly residential area characterized by a mix of historic homes and newer developments. The community is known for its suburban charm and urban convenience, offering residents easy access to downtown Decatur, Midtown Atlanta, and major highways such as Interstate 285.
