Wintersburg, Arizona, is a small, unincorporated community and census-designated place located in Maricopa County, about 48 miles west of downtown Phoenix and 17 miles west of Buckeye along the Salome Highway. As of the 2020 census, Wintersburg had a population of just 51, down from 136 in 2010, showcasing its rural and sparsely populated nature. The area is notable for being home to the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, the largest nuclear power plant in the United States.
