Lancaster Municipal Country Club sits on rolling terrain just outside the Grant County seat. The course follows the natural contours of the land, with several holes routed along tree lines that divide farm fields from residential areas. Fairways are generally open but demand accurate placement to avoid the rough, which thickens in midsummer. A creek crosses the property twice, coming into play on three separate shots and requiring carries on the longer par-four holes. Greens are bentgrass, moderately sized, and slope from back to front, rewarding approach shots played below the hole. Bunkers guard the front edges of several putting surfaces and appear in clusters on the longer par threes. The routing alternates between tree-lined corridors and more exposed stretches, creating changing wind conditions throughout the round. Maintenance standards are consistent with other municipal facilities in southwest Wisconsin, with tee boxes and fairways cut at heights that favor playability over speed.
