Lockhaven Golf Club sits on a rolling landscape just north of Godfrey, Illinois, where bent-grass fairways wind through stands of mature oaks and hickories. The course was originally routed in 1923, and its older holes still carry the compact greens and subtle contours typical of that era. Newer nines, added in the 1970s, stretch across former farmland and introduce sharper elevation changes and larger, multi-tiered putting surfaces. A creek crosses the property several times, forcing approaches on at least four holes and occasionally creating standing water after heavy rain. Drainage tiles installed in the late 1990s have improved playability, yet low-lying areas still firm up more slowly than the higher ground. The practice facility consists of a modest driving range with both grass and mats, plus a short-game area that includes a bunker and two target greens. The clubhouse, a single-story brick structure built in 1962, houses a small grill and pro shop; outside, a shaded patio overlooks the first tee.
