Magnolia Country Club occupies a flat, open landscape on the outskirts of Millen, Georgia, where tall pines and water oaks frame the fairways. The course is laid out in two loops that return to a modest, single-story clubhouse built of white-painted cinder block and tin. Fairways are a mix of common bermuda and patches of native crabgrass kept closely mowed; greens are Tifdwarf bermuda, rolled daily and bordered by shallow sand traps raked by hand. A drainage canal runs along the fifth and sixth holes, crossed by narrow wooden footbridges, while several man-made ponds stocked with bass and bream come into play on the second and eighth holes. The property is bordered on two sides by working peanut and cotton fields, and the only shade on most holes is provided by widely spaced loblolly pines planted decades ago. Maintenance equipment is stored in an open-sided metal shed behind the clubhouse, and the driving range consists of a single target green set against a backdrop of scrub oaks.
