Oakview Golf & Country Club, Macon, GA, Real Estate

Oakview Golf & Country Club sits on the gently rolling terrain of Bibb County, Georgia, where Bermuda grass fairways wind through stands of longleaf pine and live oak. The course was laid out in 1963 by Atlanta architect George W. Cobb and has hosted the Georgia PGA Section Championship twice. Its signature feature is the elevated green complex at the fifth, guarded by a pair of deep front bunkers and framed by a pond that also comes into play on the adjacent par-four sixth. Fairway bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to punish errant tee shots on the long par fours. Irrigation is supplied by a 14-acre lake that serves the back nine as well, creating several forced carries in the final six holes. The clubhouse, built of local brick and cedar, houses a well-stocked pro shop and a grill that overlooks the eighteenth green.
