Ogeechee Valley Country Club sits on gently rolling terrain just outside Louisville, Georgia. The course was built on former farmland and still shows remnants of its agricultural past, with long fairways bordered by rows of pecan and live oak trees. Bermuda grass covers the fairways and tees, while the putting surfaces are TifEagle ultradwarf, a grass chosen to withstand the region’s hot summers and heavy rainfall. Several greens slope sharply from back to front, and many are guarded by shallow bunkers filled with local tan sand. Water enters play on four holes, most notably a narrow pond that sits left of the fifth green and a small creek that crosses the seventh fairway. Irrigation is supplied by an on-site well rather than municipal water. The practice facility consists of a modest range and a single putting green located near the first tee. The clubhouse, a low brick structure originally built in the 1960s, houses a small pro shop and a grill that serves lunch daily.
