Rend Lake Golf Course sits on the east side of the reservoir near Whittington, Illinois. The course is built across gently rolling terrain once used for agriculture, and most fairways follow the natural drainage lines that slope toward the lake. Mature hardwoods line several holes, while stretches of open prairie separate others. The clubhouse, a single-story brick structure completed in the early 1980s, faces the first tee and the water beyond it. A maintenance yard with pole barns and equipment sheds occupies the southeast corner of the property. Cart paths are asphalt and run along the outer edges of most fairways. The irrigation system draws directly from Rend Lake and supplies both greens and fairways through underground piping installed during a 2004 renovation. The course remains open year-round, though winter play is limited to carts with frost restrictions posted at the starter’s window.
