Rich Harvest Farms occupies 430 acres of former farmland in Sugar Grove, Illinois, approximately 50 miles west of Chicago. The course was designed by golf course architect Roger Packard in collaboration with property owner Ken Melrose and opened in 1999. Its 18 greens are built to USGA specifications and feature A-1 and A-4 bentgrass, while the fairways consist of L-93 bentgrass. The layout incorporates existing stands of mature oak and hickory trees, drainage ditches that once irrigated surrounding cornfields, and several ponds formed from gravel quarries. The property also contains an amphitheater used for concerts and events, a private collection of antique tractors and farming equipment, and a private 4,000-foot runway. Because the course is operated as a private club, access is limited to members and their accompanied guests.
