Ridgeway Country Club sits on the northwest edge of Neenah, bordered by rolling farmland and patches of hardwood forest. The course was laid out in 1922 on gently undulating glacial till that gives the fairways a subtle crown-and-swale character. Greens are built to USGA specifications and bentgrass surfaces roll at speeds that vary with summer heat and prevailing westerly winds. Water comes into play on six holes, most notably a man-made pond that guards the left side of the par-four seventh and reappears as a lateral hazard on the finishing hole. The bentgrass rough is kept at two-and-a-half inches except on the final four holes, where it is allowed to reach three inches. Cart paths are asphalt and run primarily on the left side of each hole to minimize interference with natural drainage swales. A single creek, a tributary of the Fox River, crosses the property three times, forcing lay-up decisions on holes two, eleven, and fourteen.
