Shorewood Golf Course occupies rolling terrain just west of Green Bay, where glacial till creates subtle elevation changes and natural drainage swales across the fairways. The layout alternates between open meadow stretches and stands of mature oak and maple that frame several approaches. Greens are bentgrass, kept at moderate speed, and slope consistently from back to front, rewarding approaches that land short and release toward the cup. A small creek crosses three fairways, its banks lined with native grasses that penalize offline shots. Cart paths follow the perimeter of each hole, leaving the central playing corridors largely uninterrupted. The course sits adjacent to the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay campus, so student and faculty play is common during weekday afternoons. Maintenance standards are straightforward: fairways are mowed three times weekly in season, rough is kept at two inches, and bunkers are edged rather than flashed. The overall effect is a compact, walkable property shaped by its topography rather than extensive earth-moving.
