Stonebridge Golf & Country Club occupies a 220-acre tract along the Flint River in Albany, Georgia. Designed by Bill W. Amick and opened in 1991, the course follows the river’s floodplain and incorporates several oxbow wetlands and mature pecan groves. Fairways are planted with TifEagle bermudagrass, while the greens use Champion ultradwarf. Water comes into play on nine holes, most notably at the par-4 third, where the river forms the entire left boundary, and at the par-3 twelfth, which plays across a cypress-lined pond to a narrow, two-tiered green. Several holes route through stands of live oak and southern magnolia, creating defined landing areas and occasional shade on afternoon rounds. The practice facility includes a 10-acre driving range with target greens and a short-game area with three bunkers of varying depths. A 22,000-square-foot clubhouse, completed in 1995, houses a grill room and locker facilities. The course is maintained to USGA standards and hosts occasional regional amateur events.
