The Landings Club occupies a coastal peninsula on Skidaway Island, eighteen miles southeast of downtown Savannah. Its six eighteen-hole courses were designed by Arnold Palmer, Tom Fazio, and Arthur Hills, each routed through maritime forest, tidal marsh, and lagoons. The Plantation Course, the club’s oldest, dates to 1973 and incorporates long stretches of salt marsh along the Wilmington River. The Palmetto Course, by Palmer, features wide fairways that run between stands of live oak and palmetto. The Marshwood Course threads through dense maritime forest with elevated tees overlooking tidal creeks. The Oakridge Course, by Fazio, utilizes existing dunes and winding lagoons for internal out-of-bounds. The Deer Creek Course, also by Fazio, borders a large freshwater impoundment that draws migratory waterfowl. The Magnolia Course, by Hills, winds past moss-draped oaks and ends with several holes along the Skidaway Narrows. All courses share a central clubhouse completed in 1986 that houses locker rooms, a golf shop, and multiple dining rooms overlooking the island’s largest lagoon.
