The Pointe Golf Club, Powells Point, NC, Real Estate

The Pointe Golf Club occupies a narrow peninsula between the Currituck Sound and the Albemarle Sound in Powells Point, North Carolina. The course was designed by architect Bob Moore and opened in 1998. Its routing follows the peninsula’s natural contours, alternating between wind-exposed fairways along the water and more sheltered holes set among live oaks and loblolly pines. Several tee boxes sit directly beside the Currituck Sound, where tidal breezes often affect club selection. The layout includes forced carries over tidal creeks, elevated greens guarded by deep bunkers, and a finishing stretch that parallels the Albemarle Sound. Irrigation is drawn from on-site wells, and the turf consists primarily of bermuda grass on the fairways and bent grass on the greens. The property also contains a practice range, short-game area, and a clubhouse completed in 2001.
