Tomoka Oaks Golf & Country Club occupies a flat, sandy site between the Tomoka River and the Halifax River in Ormond Beach. Designed by Bill Amick and opened in 1964, the course follows a straight-forward routing that alternates between pine flatwoods and open fairways edged by St. Augustine grass. Water enters play on nine holes, mainly as narrow creeks or rectangular ponds that cross or border the landing zones. The greens are TifEagle bermudagrass, rebuilt in 2011, and are firm and moderately contoured. Native palmettos and scattered live oaks define many tee-to-green corridors, while scattered waste bunkers of coarse coquina sand replace traditional fairway bunkers on several holes. The layout is walkable, with short distances between greens and the next tees, and the only significant elevation change occurs on the downhill par-3 12th.
