Turtle Run is an 18-hole public course in Danville, Illinois. The layout places the first tee adjacent to the clubhouse, then moves east along a narrow corridor bordered by mature hardwoods. Holes two through five run along the eastern property line, where the fairways slope gently toward a drainage ditch that runs parallel to the right rough. The sixth green sits on a small rise that forces players to carry a shallow swale, while the seventh fairway doglegs sharply left around a stand of silver maples. The back nine shifts direction and crosses a small creek twice: the tenth tee sits above the water, the eleventh green is tucked on the far side, and the creek reappears as a lateral hazard on the sixteenth. Greens are bentgrass and are maintained at a moderate speed that allows approach shots to hold when played from the fairway. Bunkers are limited to the green complexes, with no fairway traps on the outward nine. Cart paths are asphalt and follow the left side of most holes. The course closes for aeration each September and reopens after two weeks.
