Romona Elementary School Named A Blue Ribbon School

Romona Elementary School was recently named a Nation Blue Ribbon School for the second time. This widely recognized designation is awarded to exemplary high performing schools, the top 15% in English and Mathematics as measured by state assessments. Only 25 schools in Illinois and 342 schools nationwide received this prestigious award in 2017. Romona was also named a Blue Ribbon School in 2006 making it 1 of only 11 schools to achieve this honor twice. It is a symbol of academic excellence and affirms the hard work of students, educators, families and community.
