The preserve features a 2.5-mile paved trail loop suitable for walking, jogging, and biking, along with a 1.2-mile natural-surface path through wooded areas. Picnic shelters, restrooms, and a playground are located near the main parking area on Milwaukee Avenue. The site includes open meadows, oak-hickory woodlands, and a pond that attracts seasonal waterfowl. Its location along Milwaukee Avenue places it within a short drive of downtown Prospect Heights, Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest Line, and several retail corridors. The preserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset, with vehicle access and parking available at no charge.
