Block Park, Chicago, IL

Block Park occupies 12.5 acres in Chicago’s Irving Park neighborhood at 3600 N. Kimball Avenue. Its primary feature is a 1.1-mile asphalt loop that accommodates walking, jogging, and cycling, with adjacent open turf for informal sports. The park includes six lighted tennis courts, four baseball diamonds with dugouts, and two playgrounds equipped with swings, slides, and climbing structures. A fieldhouse contains restrooms, a gymnasium, and a fitness room open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mature oak and maple trees line the eastern edge, providing partial shade along the trail. The park is bordered by the North Branch of the Chicago River on its north side, where a short riverwalk connects to the larger North Branch Trail system. CTA bus routes 82 and 93 stop within one block, and the Irving Park Blue Line station is a seven-minute walk south, offering direct access to downtown Chicago.
