Bonnie Brae Park, Lockport, IL

Bonnie Brae Park sits in the center of Lockport and covers roughly 25 acres of maintained green space. A 1.3-mile crushed-stone trail loops through the park, connecting to the I&M Canal State Trail and providing direct pedestrian access to the downtown Metra station. The park includes two lighted baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, a playground with rubberized surfacing, and two picnic shelters with electricity and restrooms. A 9-acre retention pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing is ringed by a mowed path used by joggers. Mature oak and hickory trees provide shade along the western edge, while the eastern edge borders open athletic fields used by Lockport Township High School sports programs.
