Briarcliff Woods Lake and Park, Oswego, IL View 4 Photos

Briarcliff Woods Lake and Park occupies 45 acres in southwest Oswego and is maintained by the Oswegoland Park District. The centerpiece is a 14-acre fishing lake stocked annually with channel catfish, largemouth bass, and bluegill. A 1.8-mile paved loop trail encircles the water and connects to the 3.6-mile Oswegoland Trail system, giving residents direct access to the Fox River. Two fishing piers, a boat launch limited to non-motorized craft, and a picnic shelter with charcoal grills are located on the east shore. On the west side, a playground with composite safety surfacing and an open turf field used for pick-up soccer and kite flying sit adjacent to restrooms and drinking fountains. Mature oak and hickory trees provide shade along the shoreline, and the park’s elevation offers views of the surrounding residential subdivisions and the downtown Oswego skyline less than two miles away. Street parking is available at three signed lots, and the park is open daily from sunrise to 10 p.m.
