Brummel Richmond Park, Evanston, IL

Brummel Richmond Park spans nearly nine acres between Brummel Street and Richmond Avenue in southwest Evanston. The park’s central feature is an irrigated synthetic-turf athletic field used year-round for soccer and lacrosse by local clubs and Evanston Township High School teams. A paved loop path encircles the field, offering a measured 0.4-mile route for walking and jogging. On the northeast side, a fenced playground with poured-in-place surfacing includes adaptive equipment for children with mobility differences. South of the field, six lighted tennis courts and two basketball courts provide evening play. Mature oak and maple trees line the western edge, creating shade for two reservable picnic shelters equipped with grills. The park sits three blocks east of the Metra Union Pacific North Line stop at Main Street, and the North Shore Channel Trail entrance is two blocks west, linking cyclists to the 6.7-mile Green Bay Trail corridor.
