Centennial Park, Evanston, IL

Centennial Park occupies 22 acres at the intersection of Dodge Avenue and Oakton Street in Evanston. The park contains two lighted baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, a playground, and a 0.9-mile paved loop that connects to the North Shore Channel Trail. The central lagoon supports year-round fishing and seasonal ice skating when temperatures permit. Restrooms, drinking fountains, and picnic shelters are maintained by the Evanston Parks and Recreation Department and remain open from dawn to 10 p.m. The park sits three blocks west of the Dodge Avenue CTA station and is bordered by residential streets on three sides, providing direct pedestrian access for nearby households. Mature oak and maple trees line the perimeter, creating consistent shade along the walking paths.
