Chicago Women's Park and Gardens occupies 14 acres in the Near South Side, directly south of the main museum campus. The park includes 1.2 miles of paved paths that connect to the Lakefront Trail, giving residents direct access to Lake Michigan shoreline running and cycling routes. Its gardens feature more than 80 labeled tree species and seasonal plantings maintained by the Chicago Park District, with irrigation systems and accessible walkways. The 5,000-square-foot field house contains restrooms, a fitness room, and a meeting space available for neighborhood events. Two playgrounds with rubberized surfaces and separate areas for different age groups sit near 31st Street. A 2.5-acre off-leash dog area with separate sections for small and large dogs lies at the south end. The park is three blocks from the 31st Street Harbor, which offers public boat launches, a restaurant, and seasonal events. Public transit stops at the north entrance provide connections to the Loop in under ten minutes.
