College Green Park, Elgin, IL

College Green Park occupies 18 acres at the intersection of College Drive and McLean Boulevard in Elgin. A paved 1.2-mile loop trail circles the perimeter, connecting to the Fox River Trail for longer rides or walks. Inside the loop, two lighted softball diamonds with dugouts and bleachers host youth leagues, while a separate playground area features modern climbing structures and swings suitable for ages 2–12. A reservable picnic shelter with restrooms and drinking fountains sits near a 2-acre retention pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing. Mature oak and maple trees provide shade along the south edge, and the open central lawn accommodates pickup soccer or kite flying. The park is a half-mile from the Metra station and within a short drive of Randall Road retail corridors.
