Colonial Park, Orland Park, IL

Colonial Park occupies 35 acres in central Orland Park and features a paved 0.8-mile loop trail that connects to the village’s 65-mile network of regional paths. The park’s main entrance at 147th Street and John Humphrey Drive provides direct access to four lighted tennis courts, two basketball courts, and a playground with modern impact-absorbing surfacing. A 14-acre retention pond supports seasonal fishing and is bordered by a boardwalk with benches for wildlife observation. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and electrical outlets are available by reservation, and the adjacent 12,000-square-foot community center houses a fitness room, indoor track, and multipurpose gym. The park’s parking lots accommodate 180 vehicles and are linked by sidewalks to the Orland Square Mall, the Metra Rock Island District station at 143rd Street, and several grocery stores along La Grange Road, allowing residents to combine outdoor recreation with routine errands on foot or by bicycle.
