Community Playfield Park occupies 22 acres in central Wilmette, with multiple lighted tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and a large multi-use turf field. A 0.8-mile paved loop trail circles the park perimeter, connecting to the Village’s broader bike network and the Metra station two blocks south. The playground area includes ADA-compliant equipment and a separate splash pad that operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Two picnic shelters with grills and restrooms sit adjacent to the open lawn, which is lined with mature oak and maple trees providing shade in summer. The park’s northern edge borders the New Trier High School campus, and several retail blocks along Wilmette Avenue are within a five-minute walk. Regular programming includes youth sports leagues and adult fitness classes run by the Wilmette Park District.
