Cool Acres Park in Aurora covers 44 acres with two miles of paved trails that connect to the Fox River Trail system. The park features a 1.5-acre fishing pond stocked by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, three lighted tennis courts, a playground with rubber safety surfacing, and a large shelter with electricity and restrooms. Picnic areas include grills and tables that accommodate groups up to 50. The open fields support youth soccer and baseball leagues during spring and summer. A parking lot with 120 spaces sits near the park entrance on Montgomery Road, three miles from downtown Aurora and five miles from the I-88 interchange. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is maintained by the Fox Valley Park District.
