Cornish Park, Algonquin, IL

Cornish Park occupies 27 acres in central Algonquin and is maintained by the Algonquin Parks and Recreation Department. The park features two lighted baseball fields, a football field, a playground, and two picnic shelters with tables and grills. A 1.2-mile paved loop trail circles the grounds and connects to the 9.2-mile Fox River Trail, allowing cyclists and runners to travel south to Crystal Lake or north toward the McHenry County Prairie Trail. The park also contains a 12-acre retention pond that supports seasonal fishing and attracts waterfowl. Restrooms and drinking fountains are available near the main parking lot off Highland Avenue. Adjacent to the park, Cornish Park Elementary School provides an additional playground and open field space after school hours. The park’s location one mile west of Randall Road places it within a short drive of grocery stores, restaurants, and the Algonquin Commons shopping center.
