Cottonwood Park, Hoffman Estates, IL

Cottonwood Park covers 35 acres of open space in Hoffman Estates and includes a lighted baseball field, two full-size soccer fields, and four lighted tennis courts. A 1.2-mile paved loop trail encircles the park and connects to the Poplar Creek Trail system, allowing residents to reach the 4,700-acre Poplar Creek Forest Preserve without driving. The park also features two playgrounds with age-appropriate equipment, a fishing pond stocked by the Hoffman Estates Park District, and shaded picnic shelters with grills. Restrooms and drinking fountains are located at the main parking area off Moon Lake Drive. The surrounding residential streets are lined with mature trees, and the park’s western edge borders the 140-acre Triphahn Center, which houses an indoor pool, fitness center, and ice rink. Morning and evening users include families with children, runners, and dog walkers on the trail.
