Creekside Park, Grayslake, IL

Creekside Park covers 48 acres along Grayslake’s central waterway and includes a 1.3-mile paved loop trail that connects directly to the 6-mile Des Plaines River Trail. The park’s centerpiece is a 6-acre retention pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing, surrounded by a fishing pier, picnic shelters, and restrooms. Two playgrounds, one designed for ages 2–5 and another for 5–12, sit within view of the main parking area. Open turf fields accommodate soccer and pick-up games, while a fenced dog-exercise area provides separate zones for large and small dogs. Mature oak and hickory stands line the creek corridor, offering shade along most of the trail. The park is located 0.4 miles north of downtown Grayslake and 1 mile south of IL Route 120, giving residents quick access to the Metra Union Pacific–North line, grocery stores on IL 83, and the Warren Township administrative campus.
