Creekside Park in McHenry, IL spans 53 acres along the Boone Creek corridor. The park includes 2.3 miles of paved and crushed-stone trails that connect to the 40-mile Boone Creek Greenway, allowing residents to bike or walk directly from neighborhood streets to other McHenry County preserves. A 12-acre fishing pond is stocked annually with bluegill, largemouth bass, and channel catfish, and a 200-foot accessible fishing pier extends over the water. Two playgrounds—one designed for ages 2–5 and another for ages 5–12—sit near a reservable picnic shelter with electricity and restrooms. An 18-hole disc golf course winds through oak-hickory woodland, and a dog park occupies the northwest corner with separate fenced areas for large and small breeds. The park is bordered on the east by the McHenry Public Library and on the south by Route 31, placing grocery stores, restaurants, and the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line station within a five-minute drive.
