Crown Park, Evanston, IL

Crown Park covers 12.5 acres in northwest Evanston between Reba Avenue and Sheridan Road. It contains three lighted tennis courts, two full-size basketball courts, and a playground with adaptive equipment for children with mobility limitations. A paved 0.6-mile loop path circles the park perimeter and connects to the Green Bay Trail, allowing direct bicycle and pedestrian access to downtown Evanston and Wilmette. The park’s 40-foot elevation change creates a natural sledding hill on the east side that the Evanston Park District maintains during winter. Mature oak and maple trees provide continuous shade over the picnic grove, which includes six permanent grills and two reservable shelters. Restrooms and drinking fountains operate year-round. Street parking is permitted on adjacent residential blocks, and the park is served by CTA bus routes 201 and 206. Crown Park is one block from Willard Elementary School and two blocks from the Evanston Art Center.
