Deerpath Park, Vernon Hills, IL

Deerpath Park covers 70 acres in Vernon Hills and includes a 4.5-mile paved loop trail that connects to the regional Des Plaines River Trail. The park features two baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, a basketball court, and a playground with separate areas for ages two to five and five to twelve. An 18-hole disc golf course winds through wooded sections and open fields. The park is adjacent to the Vernon Hills Public Library and is one mile from the Hawthorn Mall and the Metra Milwaukee District North Line station. A fishing pond stocked by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources is located near the main parking area, and the park is bordered by mature oak and hickory trees that provide shade along most trails.
