Diamond Lake Beach Park provides direct public access to a 100-acre spring-fed lake and a 0.6-mile paved loop that connects to the 8.2-mile Des Plaines River Trail. The park’s 15-acre grounds include a guarded swimming beach open Memorial Day through Labor Day, two playground structures, six tennis courts, two sand volleyball courts, a picnic shelter with grills, and a 92-slip public marina with transient slips. Anglers launch from the boat ramp for bass, walleye, and northern pike; non-motorized craft are permitted on the water. From the shoreline, views extend across open water to wooded shoreline and the adjacent 207-acre Lake County Forest Preserve. The park lies within a five-minute drive of IL Route 83 and Metra’s Mundelein station, placing downtown Chicago approximately 50 minutes away by train.
