Dolphin Lake Park, Homewood, IL

Dolphin Lake Park occupies 57 acres in central Homewood and centers on a 13-acre stocked lake that residents use for catch-and-release fishing and non-motorized boating. A 1.3-mile paved loop trail circles the water, connecting to the 4.6-mile Thorn Creek Trail system for longer walks or bike rides. Picnic shelters, two playgrounds, and a sand-volleyball court sit near the main parking area, while a disc-golf course winds through wooded sections. Open lawns and shoreline views give the park a spacious feel, and mature oak and maple stands provide shade in summer. The park lies within a half-mile of the Homewood Metra station and the downtown business district, so residents can reach shops, restaurants, and commuter trains on foot or by short bike ride.
