Duck Farm Forest Preserve covers 264 acres of restored prairie, wetland, and woodland in Lake Villa. It includes a 1.5-mile crushed-stone trail that loops through open meadows and around a 12-acre pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing. The trail connects to a 0.4-mile boardwalk that leads to an elevated observation platform overlooking the pond and its waterfowl. Picnic tables, grills, and a reservable shelter with restrooms are located near the main parking area off Fairfield Road. The preserve also features an archery range and a dog-friendly area with separate zones for small and large dogs. Its location between Illinois Route 83 and U.S. Route 45 places it within a short drive of grocery stores, restaurants, and the Lake Villa Metra station, giving residents convenient access to both outdoor recreation and daily services.
