Echo Park, Lake in the Hills, IL

Echo Park in Lake in the Hills covers 230 acres of rolling terrain with a 60-acre spring-fed lake at its center. The park includes two fishing piers, a boat launch for non-motorized craft, and a sandy swimming beach open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. A 3.2-mile paved trail loops around the lake and connects to the 40-mile Long Prairie Trail, allowing residents to bicycle or walk to neighboring communities without using roads. Picnic shelters, a playground with separate toddler and school-age sections, and a nine-hole disc golf course occupy the northern section, while the southern end holds three baseball fields and four soccer fields used by local youth leagues. Restrooms, drinking fountains, and a concession stand operate seasonally near the beach. The park is located two miles from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Library and three miles from the Route 31 commercial corridor, giving residents quick access to grocery stores, restaurants, and the Metra station in Crystal Lake.
