Ellynwood Nature Preserve, Glen Ellyn, IL

Ellynwood Nature Preserve in Glen Ellyn covers 85 acres of restored prairie, woodland, and wetland habitat. Visitors can hike or run on a 1.8-mile crushed-stone loop trail that circles the property and connects to the Illinois Prairie Path. The preserve includes two fishing ponds stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass, a picnic shelter with tables, and restrooms near the main parking lot on St. Charles Road. Birders regularly spot great blue herons, wood ducks, and seasonal warblers from the observation deck overlooking the marsh.
