Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva covers 194 acres along the Fox River and provides direct access to a network of paved and natural-surface trails that connect to the larger Fox River Trail. Visitors can rent bicycles from the onsite facility, play tennis on four lighted courts, or picnic under shelters equipped with grills and water. The preserve also includes the Fabyan Japanese Garden, a formal landscape with a teahouse, arched bridge, and koi pond, as well as the restored 1902 Fabyan Villa Museum and the 1850s windmill that operates on selected weekends. Mature oak and maple groves shade most of the property, and the river edge offers fishing piers and kayak launches. The preserve sits less than two miles from Geneva’s downtown business district and Metra station, allowing residents to reach restaurants, shops, and commuter service without leaving the immediate area.
