Fel-Pro RRR Conservation Area covers 230 acres of restored prairie, oak woodland, and wetland habitat just south of downtown Cary. A 2.5-mile network of mowed and natural-surface trails accommodates hiking, running, and cross-country skiing; several loops pass near stands of mature bur oak and restored tallgrass. Anglers can fish the Fox River shoreline, which forms the property’s eastern edge, while birders often spot sandhill cranes and migratory waterfowl in the wetlands. Two picnic shelters with grills and restrooms are available by reservation, and a small parking lot at the main entrance keeps access convenient. The site lies within a five-minute drive of the Cary commuter station and Route 14 retail corridor, giving residents quick connections to both Chicago and regional shopping without sacrificing on-site open space.
