Forest Play Lot occupies 11 acres along Joliet’s east side, where the Des Plaines River meets the I&M Canal Trail. The park features a 1.2-mile loop of crushed limestone that connects directly to the larger 61-mile canal system, giving residents immediate access to flat, paved cycling and jogging routes. Two lighted baseball diamonds with bleachers and a fenced playground equipped with modular climbing structures sit at the northern end, while the southern edge is bordered by mature cottonwood and oak stands that provide shade over a small picnic grove with grills and tables.
