Fox Ridge Park, McHenry, IL

Fox Ridge Park spans 42 acres in McHenry and includes a 1.2-mile paved trail that connects to the 40-mile Fox River Trail. The park’s main features are a 10-acre fishing lake with a 300-foot pier, three lighted baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, and a playground with rubberized surfacing. A shelter house with restrooms and picnic tables sits near the lake, and the park’s open fields accommodate soccer and football. Mature oak and hickory trees line the perimeter, providing shade along the trail. The park is bordered by residential streets on the west and south and by Illinois Route 31 on the east, placing it less than two miles from downtown McHenry’s shops, restaurants, and Metra station.
