Freedom Park in Tinley Park spans 43 acres and includes a 1.3-mile paved trail that loops around athletic fields and open green space. The trail connects to the village’s larger network, allowing residents to reach nearby schools and retail areas without driving. Baseball and softball diamonds, soccer fields, and tennis courts are lit for evening use, and a playground with separate areas for different age groups sits near the main parking lot. A fishing pond with a dock is stocked annually by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, and picnic shelters with grills can be reserved through the Tinley Park Park District. The park borders the Tinley Creek Forest Preserve, giving direct access to additional unpaved hiking and equestrian trails. Street parking is limited to designated spots along 171st Street, and the main lot is plowed in winter, keeping the paved loop usable year-round.
