Goodrich Woods, Naperville, IL

Goodrich Woods is a 60-acre nature preserve located in western Naperville, bordered by the DuPage River and accessible from the DuPage River Trail. The property includes a 1.2-mile loop trail that winds through oak-hickory forest and open prairie, connecting to the larger Riverwalk network. A small parking area at the 83rd Street entrance provides direct trail access, and the site is maintained by the Naperville Park District with mowed paths and periodic invasive-species removal. The woods sit within a half-mile of the Riverwalk’s commercial segment, placing residents within walking distance of downtown shops and restaurants while remaining buffered by the river corridor. Seasonal wildflowers, mature tree canopy, and river views are consistent features throughout the year. The preserve is also adjacent to Goodrich Elementary School and several neighborhood parks, creating a compact network of green space and local amenities for daily outdoor use.
