Governors Trail Park provides Matteson residents with 85 acres of maintained open space that includes a 1.8-mile paved loop trail suitable for walking, jogging, and cycling. The trail connects to the Old Plank Road Trail, allowing residents to extend their route into neighboring communities. The park contains two lighted ball fields, four tennis courts, a playground with rubberized surfacing, and two picnic shelters equipped with grills and restrooms.
