Grand Ridge Park spans 300 acres of rolling prairie and wooded hills in Minooka, Illinois. A 2.5-mile paved loop trail circles the park’s central lake, connecting to three additional natural-surface paths that wind through restored tall-grass prairie and oak-hickory woodland. The lake supports seasonal fishing for largemouth bass and bluegill, while two marked paddling launches allow non-motorized boats. Picnic shelters equipped with grills and restrooms sit at the north and south ends of the loop, and a fenced playground with climbing structures occupies the central picnic area. An off-leash dog area covers roughly three acres of fenced turf with separate zones for small and large breeds. The park borders the Wauponsee Glacial Trail, a crushed-limestone path extending 22 miles north toward Morris and south toward Coal City. The park entrance lies two miles from Interstate 80, placing it within a ten-minute drive of grocery stores, pharmacies, and the Minooka Community Park District’s indoor recreation center.
