Greentree Park, Libertyville, IL

Greentree Park covers 23 acres in central Libertyville, where a network of paved paths winds past an 18-hole disc golf course and multiple playgrounds. The park’s open fields accommodate organized soccer and baseball leagues, while two lighted tennis courts remain available after dusk. A sledding hill rises near the parking area, and picnic shelters equipped with grills sit beside a small pond stocked for catch-and-release fishing. The Des Plaines River Trail enters the park at its northern edge, giving residents a continuous off-street route to Independence Grove Forest Preserve two miles north or to downtown Libertyville three-quarters of a mile south. Mature oaks and restored prairie plantings line the trail, providing shade and seasonal wildflowers. Restrooms and drinking fountains are located at both the main parking lot and the trailhead, and the park is served by scheduled Pace bus stops on nearby Milwaukee Avenue.
