Heritage Knolls Park, Frankfort, IL

Heritage Knolls Park occupies 42 acres at 21100 South 80th Avenue in Frankfort. The park features a 1.5-mile paved loop trail that connects to the 9.1-mile Old Plank Road Trail, giving residents direct access for walking, jogging, and cycling. Two playground structures serve different age groups, while a 5,600-square-foot indoor recreation building houses restrooms, a concession stand, and meeting space. Picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, and an 18-hole disc golf course are also on site. The grounds include open turf fields used for soccer and lacrosse, plus a fishing pond stocked annually by the Frankfort Park District. Mature oak and hickory trees line the northern edge, providing shade along the trail and screening views of adjacent residential streets. The park lies less than two miles from downtown Frankfort’s Metra station and commercial corridor, allowing residents to reach shops, restaurants, and commuter rail service by foot, bike, or a short drive.
